Cinnamon nut cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 3/4 tsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- soft butter - 1/3 c
- cream
- sifted confectioners sugar
- broken nuts - 2/3 c
- Grease and flour 2 square pans, 8 x 8 x 2-inches
How to make cinnamon nut cake:
Heat oven to 350° (moderate). Grease and flour 2 square pans, 8 x 8 x 2-inches. Mix butter, sugar and eggs in mixing bowl. Beat 5 minutes, high speed on mixer or by hand until well mixed. Blend flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Add alternately in 3 additions with milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Beat on low speed just until smooth; fold in nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes. Frost with Browned Butter Icing.Browned Butter Icing:3 Tbsp. butter1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. cream3/4 tsp. vanilla Brown butter in saucepan over medium heat until delicately brown.
