Chunky granola
Ingredients/Components
- rolled oats - 6 c
- sunflower seeds or nuts - 1/2 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- wheat germ - 1/2 c
- powdered milk - 1/2 c
- honey - 2/3 c
- vegetable oil - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- slivered almonds - 1 c
How to make chunky granola:
Place oats in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 10 minutes, stirring 2 to 3 times. Remove from oven and add sunflower seeds, coconut, wheat germ, powdered milk, cinnamon, slivered almonds. Place honey and vegetable oil in a pan on stove top and heat until hot but not boiling. Pour over dry mixture and stir until well coated. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°, stirring every 3 to 5 minutes until uniformly golden brown. Let cool in pan undisturbed, then break into chunks.
