Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • cold water - 1/4 c
  • Bisquick
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
  • can chicken broth - 1 3/4
  • parsley
  • basil leaves - 1/4 tsp
  • chicken - 2 to
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • marjoram - 1/4 tsp
  • marjoram leaves - 1/2 tsp

How to make chicken and dumplings:

Dumplings:1 1/4 c. Bisquick1/2 c. milk1 1/2 tsp. parsley1/4 tsp. marjoram In pan, place chicken, broth, water, onion, celery, carrots, parsley, salt, marjoram, basil and pepper. Heat to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Remove chicken from liquid. Discard skin and fat. Remove from bones. Chop into bite-size pieces. Return chicken to broth. Heat to boil.

For Dumplings: Combine all ingredients. Drop by heaping spoonfuls into boiling broth. Reduce heat. Cover and cook 15 minutes.
