Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 1/4 c
- Bisquick
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
- can chicken broth - 1 3/4
- parsley
- basil leaves - 1/4 tsp
- chicken - 2 to
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- marjoram - 1/4 tsp
- marjoram leaves - 1/2 tsp
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings:1 1/4 c. Bisquick1/2 c. milk1 1/2 tsp. parsley1/4 tsp. marjoram In pan, place chicken, broth, water, onion, celery, carrots, parsley, salt, marjoram, basil and pepper. Heat to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Remove chicken from liquid. Discard skin and fat. Remove from bones. Chop into bite-size pieces. Return chicken to broth. Heat to boil.For Dumplings: Combine all ingredients. Drop by heaping spoonfuls into boiling broth. Reduce heat. Cover and cook 15 minutes.
