Chicken and broccoli casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- curry powder - 1/2 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- 4 oz - 1 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- can sliced mushrooms - 1 oz
- onion - 1/4 c
- frozen broccoli, cooked and drained - 1 pkg
- chicken, cooked and cut into large cubes - 1 item
How to make chicken and broccoli casserole:
Melt butter in skillet. Saute onions. Remove from heat. Stir in flour and spices. Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Add water to make 1/2 cup liquid. Gradually stir into flour mixture. Blend in milk until smooth. Add mushrooms and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.Arrange broccoli and chicken in 13 x 9-inch dish. Pour on sauce and top with cheese. Bake for 20 minutes at 375°. Cool 15 minutes before serving.
