Carrots au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- margarine - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
- shredded American cheese - 1 c
- corn flake crumbs - 1/2 c
- cooked, sliced carrots drained - 4 c
How to make carrots au gratin:
Combine corn flake crumbs and 2 Tbsp. margarine; set aside. Add onion to remaining margarine and saut?© over low heat. Add flour, salt and pepper. Stir in milk. Increase heat to medium, cook until bubbly and thickened, stirring constantly. Add cheese and stir until smooth. Stir in carrots and parsley. Spread in shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish and sprinkle with crumbs. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until crumbs are brown. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Low Carb.
