Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • evaporated milk - 2/3 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • box brown sugar - 1 lb

How to make caramel frosting:

Combine sugar, milk, butter and salt. Bring to a full boil, stirring occasionally. Boil to soft ball stage. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Beat until thick and creamy. Spread on cake.
