Caramel apple coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- vanilla extract - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- vegetable oil
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- chopped, peeled apples - 3 c
- coarsely chopped pecans - 1 c
- Blend in oil and vanilla
How to make caramel apple coffee cake:
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy; gradually add sugar. Blend in oil and vanilla. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and pecans. Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the cake tests done. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake to a serving platter. Make topping.Topping:1/2 c. butter or margarine1/4 c. milk1 c. packed brown sugar pinch of salt Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
