Caramel apple coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- margarine
- chopped, peeled apples - 3 c
- coarsely chopped pecans - 1 c
- vegetable oil or butter Crisco
How to make caramel apple coffee cake:
Topping:1/2 c. margarine1/4 c. milk1 c. packed brown sugar pinch of salt In a mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Gradually add sugar. Blend in oil or Crisco and vanilla. Combine flour, salt and soda. Add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and pecans. Pour into greased 10-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove cake to a serving plate.For Topping: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Slowly pour over warm cake. Spoon any topping that runs into plate back onto cake.
