Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • corn flakes
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • mayonnaise - 1/2 c
  • can cream of celery soup - 1 item
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • shredded cabbage - 2 c
  • crumbled cornflakes - 1 c

How to make cabbage casserole:

Soak cabbage in cold water for 30 minutes. Mix together cornflakes (crushed by hand) and melted margarine. Place in bottom of large baking dish. Put cabbage on top of mixture and salt to taste. Make a sauce of mayonnaise, milk and celery soup. Heat and pour over cabbage. Top with shredded cheese and cornflakes. Bake at 325° for 35 minutes.
