Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- grated cheese - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- can cream of celery soup - 1 item
- crushed corn flakes - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- shredded cabbage - 5 c
- can sliced water chestnuts optional - 1 item
How to make cabbage casserole:
Melt 1 stick of margarine in a 9 x 12-inch baking dish. Pour melted margarine into mixing bowl. Put a layer of crushed corn flakes in baking dish. Spread 5 cups of shredded cabbage on top of corn flakes.Add to melted margarine in bowl the remaining ingredients (except cheese). Mix well and pour over cabbage. Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over cabbage mixture. Cover with crushed corn flakes. Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes.
