Ingredients/Components

  • slices white bread no crust; enough for 2 layers - 16 item
  • cooked ham, sliced or diced enough for 3 layers - 3 c
  • Cheddar cheese, sliced or grated - 6 oz
  • Swiss cheese same - 6 oz

How to make breakfast casserole:

In a greased 9 x 13 casserole, start 1st layer of bread slices (about 8). Then the 2nd layer of ham, then a 3rd layer of cheese. Repeat all layers again; top with leftover bread pieces.

Next: In blender, put 3 cups of milk, 6 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set on puree to mix. Pour this mixture over the bread casserole and cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.

In morning, add some crushed cornflakes to the top of the casserole and set oven at 350° and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.
