Ingredients/Components
- paprika - 2 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
- chili powder - 1/4 tsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- water or chicken broth - 5 c
- bay leaves - 3 item
- cumin - 3 tsp
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- dry black beans - 1 lb
- dry red wine or 1/2 c - 1/2 c
- a few grinds black pepper - 1 item
How to make black bean soup:
Bring beans to a boil in twice as much water as beans. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour. Drain. Saute onions and garlic in 1/4 cup water. Add cumin, paprika and chili powder; cook until onions are soft (add more water ifRecipe categories: Soups & stews, Beans, Black beans.
