Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 3/4 c
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder
- shortening - 1/3 c
- powdered buttermilk - 1/4 c
How to make biscuits:
Sift dry ingredients together. Mix in shortening until mixture is crumbly. Add enough water for dough, just dry enough to work. Knead lightly on a floured surface. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut. Bake in greased pan (grease tops) for 12 to 15 minutes (until nicely browned) at 450°. Sour milk may be used.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, High calcium.
