Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour
- sweet milk - 1 qt
- RapidRise yeast - 2 pkg
How to make icebox rolls:
Heat milk to lukewarm. Add sugar and shortening. Mix yeast with 1 cup of flour. Add to warm milk mixture. Add 5 cups of flour; mix well. Batter will be thin. Let set for 1 hour. Mixture will rise. Add baking powder, soda and salt to the 2 1/2 cups of flour; stir into the risen mixture. Store in refrigerator overnight. Remove dough. Roll, cut and dip in melted butter.
