Ingredients/Components
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chili powder - 1 2
- dry red wine - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1 lb
- oregano - 1/3 Tbsp
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- Tabasco to taste optional - 1 item
- green pepper, seeded and chopped optional - 1 item
- can kidney beans or cooked pinto beans - 1 lb
- Cheddar cheese, shredded for garnish - 1 item
How to make beef chili:
Cook beef with garlic, onion, green pepper and chili powder. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until thick. Stir occasionally. Serve garnished with shredded cheese.Recipe categories: < 60 mins, Main dish, Chili.
