Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • chopped parsley - 1/2 c
  • thyme - 3/4 tsp
  • medium onions, chopped - 2 item
  • whitefish fillets - 2 lb
  • thin slices Cheddar cheese - 8 item

How to make baked fish au gratin:

Place half of the fillets in greased baking dish and cover with 4 slices of cheese. Sprinkle with thyme and parsley. Saute onions and add. In top of double boiler, melt butter; stir in flour. Add salt and pepper. Cook until the mixture thickens. Pour over fish and bake at 400° for 30 minutes.
