Au gratin potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- shredded cheese - 2 c
- chopped onion to taste - 1 item
- to 8 medium potatoes, sliced - 6 item
- to 4 pieces of crumbled bread - 3 item
How to make au gratin potatoes:
Place sliced potatoes in bottom of casserole dish. Saute onion in butter. Add flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until bubbly. Remove from heat. Add milk and 1 1/2 cups cheese. Heat to boiling; stir constantly for 1 minute. Pour over potatoes. Cook uncovered for 1 hour at 375°. Mix remaining cheese and bread crumbs, sprinkle on top.
