Caramel crackers
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- white Karo syrup - 1/2 c
- pecans or peanuts - 3 c
- boxes Ritz Bits crackers - 2 item
How to make caramel crackers:
Pour crackers and nuts on large baking sheet. Mix well. Over heat, mix margarine, sugar and Karo syrup. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla. Stir well. Pour over crackers and nuts. Toss until coated. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour on wax paper until cool. Break apart.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Lunch/snacks, Snacks.
