Whole wheat oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- raisins optional - 1 c
- quick oatmeal - 2 c
- whole wheat flour
- chopped walnuts optional - 1/2 c
How to make whole wheat oatmeal cookies:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs. Sift together flour, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and walnuts. Add raisins. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on cookie sheets 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool.
