Whole wheat banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- hot water - 1/3 c
- whole-wheat flour - 1 c
- 1/4 lb - 1/2 c
- mashed ripe bananas about 3 - 1 c
How to make whole wheat banana bread:
In a large bowl, stir together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and banana, blending until smooth. In another bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda and whole-wheat flour until thoroughly blended. Add to banana mixture alternately with hot water. Stir in nuts. Spoon batter into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until bread begins to pull away from sides of pan and a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack and let cool completely. Makes 1 loaf.Serving Size: 1 slice. Cal-268, CHO-37, Pro-4, Fat-12.
