Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- potatoes - 1 item
- stalks celery - 2 item
- shredded cabbage - 1 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- can green beans - 1 item
- small onions - 2 item
- tomatoes - 1 qt
- can yellow beans - 1 item
- beef shank
- alphabet macaroni - 1/2 c
- black peppers - 6 item
How to make vegetable soup:
Boil beef shank in water. Remove scum. Add salt, bay leaves, peppers, tomatoes and onions. Simmer until tomatoes flake (1 1/2 to 2 hours). Add celery, potatoes and carrots. Boil 1/2 hour longer, then add beans, cabbage and macaroni. Boil for 1/2 hour more.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Weeknight, Soups & stews.
