- potatoes - 1 item
- cabbage - 1 item
- carrot - 1 item
- tomatoes - 1 item
- corn - 1 item
- butter beans - 1 item
- fat back - 1 item
- stew beef, cut into bite size pieces optional - 1 lb
How to make vegetable soup:
Cook stew beef with a small onion and 1 tablespoon oil; brown and let cool.Fry one piece fat back. Add 2 1/2 cups butter beans and cover with water. Add 4 cups tomatoes and boil 25 minutes. Add 1 or 2 potatoes, cubed. Add 1 or 2 carrots, sliced. Add 2 1/2 cups kernel corn. Let boil slowly for 15 minutes. Salt, pepper and add stew beef. Simmer 20 minutes.
