Turkey tetrazzini
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 8 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- light cream - 1 c
- butter or oleo - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- poultry seasoning - 1/2 tsp
- onions, thinly sliced - 1/2 c
- turkey, cooked and diced - 4 c
- mushrooms, canned and sliced - 1/2 c
- chicken broth may be canned - 1 c
- aged Cheddar cheese - 3/4 c
How to make turkey tetrazzini:
Lightly brown mushrooms and onions in butter. Stir in flour and cook until bubbly. Stir in broth and cream. Add in salt, pepper and poultry seasoning to taste. Cook, stirring frequently until mixture boils.Use a 2 1/2-quart buttered (greased) casserole dish. First, place a layer of cooked noodles in bottom of dish. Then a layer of diced turkey. Cover with a layer of sauce. Repeat each layer, finishing with a layer of sauce. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Bake in a 400° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until cheese is a golden brown or until bubbly. Serves 6.
