Italian tomato sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- dry red wine - 2 Tbsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- basil - 2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- olive oil - 3 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
- bay leaves - 2 item
- 13 oz - 1 lb
- freshly chopped tomatoes - 1 c
How to make italian tomato sauce:
Saute the first 7 ingredients in a large kettle. When onion is clear and very soft, add remaining ingredients. Turn the heat way down. Cover and simmer at least 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add 1/2 cup freshly chopped parsley.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Main dish, Tomato.
