Ingredients/Components

  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • ground red pepper - 1/4 1/2
  • dried oregano, crushed - 3/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chili powder - 1 2
  • dried basil, crushed - 3/4 tsp
  • ground turkey - 2 lb
  • dry red wine - 1/4 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • dried parsley flakes - 1 tsp
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • cans red kidney beans, drained - 2 1/2
  • cans tomatoes, cut up - 2 oz

How to make turkey chili:

Cook turkey until no longer pink. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, drained kidney beans, tomato sauce, onion, wine, chili powder, parsley flakes, basil, oregano, black pepper, garlic, red pepper and bay leaf. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer, covered, about 2 hours. Stir occasionally. (May substitute ground hamburger for turkey.) Makes 10 servings.
