Tomato catsup
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 7 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- vinegar
- onions - 1 c
- tomatoes, cut in chunks without peeling - 1 item
- red pepper or ginger - 1 tsp
How to make tomato catsup:
Cook the tomatoes with the onions. Run through sieve. Use 8 quarts tomatoes. Add the remaining ingredients. Boil down until thick. Leave in kettle until cold. Put into bottles; will not have to be sealed.I boil my catsup down about 1/3, then I use perma flo to thicken to my likeness.
