Picante sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 tsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- vinegar - 1 c
- chopped onion - 2 c
- cloves minced garlic - 2 item
- tomatoes - 8 c
- cumin - 1/2 tsp
- coriander - 1/2 tsp
- jalapeno peppers, chopped - 6 item
How to make picante sauce:
Scald, peel and chop tomatoes; add all other ingredients and cook about 25 minutes (until thick enough) and place filled jars in boiling water bath canner and boil for 10 minutes. Makes 12 (1/2 pints). Add peppers to taste while cooking, for desired heat.Recipe categories: Sauces, Dips, Savory sauces.
