Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- boiling water
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- oatmeal - 1 c
- walnuts, chopped - 1 c
- shortening, butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- Heat and bring to a rapid boil
How to make texas sheet cake:
Mix cocoa and water in saucepan. Heat and bring to a rapid boil. Pour over sugar and flour mixture; mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Pour into an ungreased jelly roll pan. Cream the sugars, shortening and vanilla. Add eggs and mix. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon, then add to creamed mixture. Blend in cooked oatmeal.
