Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- hamburger - 1 lb
- uncooked rice - 1/2 c
- large onions, sliced - 2 item
- canned tomatoes - 2 c
- large peppers, cut fine - 2 item
How to make texas hash:
Cook onions and green peppers slowly in shortening until onions are yellow. Add meat and fry until mixture falls apart. Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings and mix. Place in 2-quart casserole; cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, One Dish meal.
