Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1/2 c
- large onions, sliced - 2 item
- canned tomatoes - 2 c
- hamburg - 1 lb
- green peppers, chopped finely - 2 item
How to make texas hash:
Cook onions and green peppers in fat slowly, until tender. Add hamburg and fry until brown. Add tomatoes, rice, salt, pepper and chili powder and mix thoroughly. Pour into casserole. Cover and bake at 375° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Ground beef, One Dish meal.
