Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- flour, sifted - 4 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
- salt pinch - 1/2 tsp
- shortening Crisco or butter - 1 c
How to make tea cakes:
Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add baking powder and salt with flour and sift. Add to other mixture and add vanilla and mix lightly. Roll out in thickness desired or biscuit thickness. Cut out. Bake on cookie sheet until slightly brown. Add nuts, if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Coffee cakes.
