Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
How to make tea cakes:
Cream butter and Crisco; add sugar then beaten eggs. Into 1 cup of flour, sift soda and baking powder. Add this to sugar mixture. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Turn onto a floured board; knead until smooth. Roll out 1/2-inch thick. Cut in any shape. Bake about 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Coffee cakes.
