Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- self-rising flour - 2 c
- shortening Crisco - 1 c
How to make tea cakes:
Blend the sugar and shortening together with a fork. Add eggs, vanilla and gradually add the flour, one cup at a time. It will seem a little dry. Spoon out on cookie sheet, ungreased, and bake in oven at 325° for about 20 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. When you take them out, they will be soft, but as they cool, they will become firmer. Do not overcook.Recipe categories: Desserts, Breads, Coffee cakes.
