  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • onion flakes - 1 Tbsp
  • round steak - 2 lb
  • can tomatoes, pureed - 1 item

How to make swiss steak:

Mix flour and salt, then pound into steak with meat mallet. Brown on both sides in shortening. Mix tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Pour on beef. Cook. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
