  • round steak - 1 1
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • onion, chopped - 1/4 c
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • shortening - 3 Tbsp
  • water
  • tomato sauce - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • horseradish - 1 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1 tsp
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp

How to make deviled steak strips:

Cut meat into 2 inch thin strips. Coat with flour. Brown meat, onion and garlic in shortening. Stir in 1 cup water, tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper. Simmer 1 hour. Stir in 1/2 cup water; heat through. Serve with rice or noodles.
