Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- beef broth - 1/2 c
- large onion, sliced - 1 item
- beef round steak about 3/4-inch thick - 1 lb
- peeled sliced carrots - 2 c
How to make swiss steak:
Combine flour, salt and pepper. Coat steak with seasoned flour. With wooden mallet, pound meat between wax paper until it is 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 6 serving pieces. Heat oil; brown steak well, all sides. Saut?© onion until tender. Add tomatoes and broth. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots.
