Cucumber raita



  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • plain yogurt - 10 oz
  • medium onion, finely chopped - 1/2 item
  • medium cucumbers, peeled and sliced thinly - 2 item
  • cumin fried and ground or powder - 1/4 tsp

How to make cucumber raita:

Slice the cucumbers; sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt and let them sit for 15 minutes. In another bowl, mix 10 ounces unflavored plain yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cumin and the 1/2 medium sized onion. Whip the yogurt mixture with a spoon. Add the cucumbers and chill. Garnish with 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro leaves.
