Swedish meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 8 oz
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- ground ginger - 1/8 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- ground allspice - 1/8 tsp
- corn oil - 1 Tbsp
- fresh bread crumbs - 1 c
- beef bouillon - 2 c
- ground pork, veal and beef mixture or 1 lb - 1 lb
How to make swedish meatballs:
In large skillet, heat corn oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. In large mixing bowl, mix together cooked onion, meat and next 6 ingredients until blended. Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls and place in shallow baking pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until cooked through.In same skillet, melt margarine over medium heat. Stir in flour until well blended. Gradually stir in beef bouillon and pepper until blended. Stirring constantly, cook 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened.
In serving bowl, toss 1 1/3 cups of sauce and noodles. Top with meat balls and remaining sauce. Serve.
