Stuffed manicotti
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- Parmesan cheese - 1 item
- parsley flakes - 1 tsp
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 3 c
- can tomato paste - 6 oz
- Ricotta cheese - 15 oz
- mild pork sausage - 1 lb
- manicotti noodles, cooked and drained - 12 item
- cans Italian tomato sauce - 2 oz
How to make stuffed manicotti:
Brown sausage; drain. Remove half of sausage and set aside. Stir tomato sauce, paste, water and brown sugar into sausage. Simmer 15 minutes. In bowl, combine remaining sausage, Ricotta cheese, 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, egg and parsley. Stuff manicotti noodles with mixture. In 9 x 13 x 2 baking dish, pour spaghetti sauce over filled noodles. Top with remaining Mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
