Steak and onion pie
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- hot water
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1 item
- diced potatoes - 2 c
- sliced onions - 1 c
- round steak, cubed - 1 lb
- Worcestershire sauce if desired - 1/2 tsp
- dash of ginger and allspice - 1 item
- Bovril in hot water for flavor - 1/2 tsp
How to make steak and onion pie:
Roll meat in flour, salt, pepper and all spices. Brown the meat; add onions and cook until light. Add the potatoes and brown and stir. Add hot water and simmer until near tender. Turn into casserole. Cover with pie crust. Brush with beaten egg. Bake in a 400° to 425° oven for 25 minutes. Serve with salad and peach cobbler for dessert.Recipe categories: < 60 mins, Meat, Beef.
