Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- sour cream - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3 c
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- round steak - 1 item
- George Washington or beef bouillon - 2 pkg
- Cut off fat
How to make steak and dumplings:
Cut steak into serving size pieces. Cut off fat. Brown meat on both sides; drain off all grease. Add water and seasoning. Cook 1 hour or more. Check water; if low, add more water. Meat should be covered.When meat is tender to fork, make thickening with flour and milk. Add to meat, making gravy. Add sour cream and dumplings.Dumplings:3 c. flour1/4 tsp. baking powder3 eggs1/2 c. milk salt Mix all ingredients. If too stiff, add more milk. Drop from teaspoon into boiling water, no bigger than 1/2 the spoon or smaller. Cook 5 to 7 minutes. When all rise to top of water, drain and rinse well. Add to steak and gravy.
