Ingredients/Components
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- celery, diced - 1 c
- carrots, diced - 3 item
- split peas - 1 lb
- onion, cut in half - 1 item
- ham bone, cut up or seasoning ham - 1 item
- minced garlic and parsley - 1/2 tsp
How to make split pea soup:
Wash peas. Cover with water. Add ham bone and all seasonings. Add salt and pepper. Cook until peas are tender. Add water if soup is too thick. Should yield about 2 quarts soup. Serve piping hot and add croutons before serving.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Soups & stews, 3 steps or less.
