Spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
- oregano - 1 tsp
- olive oil - 2 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- sweet basil - 1 tsp
- ground chuck - 1 lb
- sliced mushrooms optional - 8 oz
- cans large crushed tomatoes - 2 item
How to make spaghetti sauce:
Saute ground chuck in 10-inch skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Continue cooking until done. Drain fat from ground chuck and set aside.Use 5-quart Dutch oven. Heat olive oil in Dutch oven. Add onion and mushrooms. Saute for minute or two, then add garlic and continue to saute on low heat. Add 2 cans crushed tomatoes, sugar and spices; continue cooking. Now, add sauteed meat to sauce, continue cooking over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour. May refrigerate and use at a later time or day or you can freeze sauce. Serve with cooked spaghetti.
