Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
  • ground ginger - 1/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • can tomatoes with liquid - 4 tomatoes,
  • round steak - 1 to
  • large green peppers, cut into strips - 2 item

How to make slow cooked pepper steak:

Cut steak into strips. Brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a slow cooker. Combine the next 7 ingredients. Pour over beef. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until meat is tender. Add tomatoes and green peppers. Cook for 1 hour longer. Combine the cold water and cornstarch to make a paste. Stir into liquid in cooker and cook on high until thickened. Serve over noodles or rice.
