Shrimp jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- sliced smoked sausage - 1 item
- water - 1/2 c
- bay leaves - 2 item
- dried thyme - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- crushed red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- dash of black pepper - 1 item
- rice raw - 1 c
- shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp jambalaya:
In saucepan, cook onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender. Stir in flour; blend well. Stir in undrained tomatoes, sausage, water, bay leaves, thyme, salt, basil, red pepper, pepper, uncooked rice and shrimp. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook over medium heat. Stir frequently for 10 to 15 minutes until rice and shrimp are done. Remove bay leaves. Serve. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Shrimp.
