Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- flour - 4 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- currants - 1/2 c
How to make scones:
Sift together flour and baking powder. Add sugar and rub in butter lightly. Beat egg and add 3/4 of it to dry ingredients. Add milk to make a fairly soft dough. Roll out and cut into triangles. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush over with remaining egg. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Scones.
