• sugar - 3/4 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 3/4 c
  • flour - 4 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • currants - 1/2 c

How to make scones:

Sift together flour and baking powder. Add sugar and rub in butter lightly. Beat egg and add 3/4 of it to dry ingredients. Add milk to make a fairly soft dough. Roll out and cut into triangles. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush over with remaining egg. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes.
