Ingredients/Components
- loaf white bread, cubed - 1/2 item
- cracker crumbs
- chicken broth - 3 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 3/4 c
- cubed, cooked chicken - 3 c
- can sliced mushrooms - 1 item
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
How to make scalloped chicken:
In a mixing bowl, combine bread cubes and 1 cup cracker crumbs. Stir in broth, eggs, salt, celery, onion, chicken and mushrooms. Spoon into a greased 2-quart casserole dish. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown remaining cracker crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Turkey.
