Sausage breakfast casserole
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 1 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 6 item
- shredded Cheddar cheese
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- or 8 slices bread - 6 item
- bulk pork or sausage - 1 lb
How to make sausage breakfast casserole:
Remove crusts from bread; spread bread slices with butter. Place in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; set aside. Cook sausage until browned, stirring to crumble; drain well. Spoon sausage over bread slices; sprinkle with cheese. Combine beaten eggs, milk, salt and pepper; mix well and pour over bread and cheese. Cover casserole; refrigerate overnight.Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes before baking. Bake casserole, uncovered, at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes. Yields 8 servings.
