Sausage and egg puff
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 6 item
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- ground hot sausage - 1 lb
- slices white bread - 2 item
- grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- drop Tabasco sauce or to taste - 1 item
How to make sausage and egg puff:
Butter bread and cut into small cubes. Brown sausage in skillet, making sure there are no large lumps. Drain. In 2-quart casserole, layer sausage, bread and cheese. In a bowl, beat eggs with milk, Tabasco sauce, salt, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture over sausage, bread and cheese. Cover and refrigerate 12 hours or overnight. Remove 1 hour before cooking. Preheat oven to 350° and bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until firm and golden on top. Serves 8.
