Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 1/3 c
  • cans chicken broth - 3 oz
  • finely chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • uncooked long grain rice
  • golden raisins - 1/3 c
  • coarsely chopped pecans - 3/4 c
  • Cover and bring to boil

How to make rice pilaf:

Add to mixture in skillet. Cover and bring to boil. Simmer on low heat for 25 minutes. Remove cover and cook 5 minutes longer or until liquid is absorbed.Topping:3 Tbsp. margarine1/2 tsp. salt3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans Melt margarine in small pan. Add nuts and salt. Heat 2 to 3 minutes. Put rice in serving bowl. Top with topping and serve.
